Position Summary: The Clinician/ Therapist is responsible for providing a strengths-based approach to treatment that recognizes — in the proper therapeutic context, those with trauma histories can thrive within a small but growing private practice—using a cognitive behavioral approach that helps the client recognize negative thoughts and behavior patterns. The focus is on the client's experience and perception of need, emphasizing psychoeducation, collaboration, and empowerment.

The primary client population to be served are adults with a history of trauma, depression, anxiety, racing thoughts, and low- self-esteem that affects the quality of life. As we continue growing our practice, we seek licensed mental health professionals in Florida or Maryland to join our team.

***Please note that pre-licensed therapists are welcome to apply ( only registered interns)**

This position is an independent contractor therapist, remote work. Upon hiring, the independent contractor therapist will receive up to five clients, with their caseload increasing to 15 within the next few months. The non-licensed therapist can receive 1-on-1 weekly supervision if receiving in-person field training through another organization. The intern should have completed 24 months of supervision and/or have passed the licensure exam. The intern will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of ethical principles and clinical best practices.

Requirements:

  • Intermediate or advanced knowledge of the impacts of trauma, including Complex Trauma.
  • Deeper understanding of PTSD, oppression, and trauma, and a strong commitment to one’s cultural competency and cultural humility process.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to be credentialed with the major insurance carriers if not already paneled ( licensed appliances only).
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work or Counseling
  • At least one year’s experience working with trauma survivors. Other trauma subspecialties will be considered.
  • Advanced training or supervision in trauma-specific interventions, such as EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, somatically based interventions, IFS, TF-CBT, etc.
  • Ability to quickly learn EHR systems for scheduling, client records, and insurance claims; advanced knowledge of the internet and email.

Pay is hourly (commensurate upon experience) -
